Discord Section

This section you will get knowledge you didn't even know about discord.

Let's start it off with:

DM Raids.

DM raids usually start when there's a situation that has happened that causes literally everyone else to get invested. such as, people will be sent to the other person's DMs causing problems n such. It's like, lowkey drama depending on the situation. for example, if 5+ people are DMing you asking you the same question but different. then, SOMETHING. must have happened for that to happen.

-------------------------------

That's an example of an DM raid. what's worse about a DM raid is when they come onto the server just so they can message you. and boi, they be a bunch of them. but, no fear. there's many ways of preventing this.

Steps On Prevent DM raids:

1. Disable the: "Allow direct messages from server members." by unchecking it. (Suggested, you do this in servers you know you're most likely going to have people DMING you. that includes your own. make sure only friend people who you trust when doing this.)

2. Go to Privacy-->"I live on the edge" (This makes sure no one can even message you in the first place.)

3. Should be all set. If you also don't want 129837123981723982354 friend requests then toggle the ``off button for the "Everyone" part of the "Who can add you as a Friend"option.

Secondly:
IP leakage leads to hacked account

Person: "That's a lie."

Nope, it's the truth. apparently, there's a thing going around that hackers can not only use the those IP grabber sites to get your IP. but, if you've clicked on it through Discord your token gets leaked to the person who set up that link and BOOM! you're hacked. It has happened, to someone I know and they've even sent me screenshots. So, discord know what they are doing when they say: "Masked Links are Spoopy" or "Links are spoopy are you sure you want to go to "insert link here?" This ofc, can easily be prevented by not clicking on links from strangers aka people who aren't your friends.

But, there's more to that; Firstly, here are some dead giveaways that a link someone sent you is either a phishing website or a IP logger.

1. If you have never spoken to them before, and the first message they send is a link.

2.If the link is trying to resemble a popular site like Paypal or youtube. (youtuu.be, paypalhomepa.ge, ppaypal, facebo.ok, etc)

3.If someone you strongly dislike is desperately trying to get you to visit "their website" or Minecraft server.

4. Someone with no profile picture sends you a random link (often a dead giveaway).

If you're still unsure about a sketchy looking link, you can always use GetLinkInfo.com too. Once you're on the page, you're going to copy your questionable link into the text field. and it will show you if it's safe or not. OwO heck, if you fucked up and been getting yo ass DDossed lately and your IP was exposed somewhere. no need to panic at the disco. just get yourself a good VPN.

(Examples of a good vpn is Betternet, NordVPN, CyberGhostVPN, ExpressVPN, PureVPN and Even, Psiphon and HoxxVPN.) Aside from that information, if you're still really curious as to what that suspicious looking link is that a RKO sent you, just load up Opera's VPN and private browser and go check it out.

In conclusion

I hope you’ve guys learned something from this. It’s really best to spread this around so then, people will become more self-aware and less nervous n such. Lately, I’ve been busy as shit. So, I hope as I am currently doing other things that learned a couple of things. The dangers of how life is on this platform. Everything is fun n games till everything just falls apart for some reason known or unknown. If you need help you can always DM a staff member. You can DM me but depending on what I’m doing I won’t respond much, you’ll be lucky if I respond right away. Anywho, have a nice day I hope this can help you all. More than I can even help myself lmao.and, if you aren’t having a nice day. Well, then you can always try to make it nice yourself or hang around people or do something that will make it nice. UwU doing the right things will always help you sleep at night and admitting your mistakes is definitely one of them.

Wait there is more:

2auth for your account & server Is the best option!

If you didn’t know people actually think 2auth is a waste of time and completely complicated and risky. It really isn’t any of those. There’s actually many good authentication apps that can help you yknow get into your account when you log in another device. Sure, there will be times that you’re worried you’ll be locked out of your account and just letting you know you can’t be locked out of your account unless your account is actually disabled. It’s best to use Authy instead, of the more advanced way in getting in your account. Note you can use the computer version as well. So, you don’t need to add the app on your phone unless you’re certain you’re going to log in on the go. If you need help and steps on activating 2auth. Then, hmu or just go follow the steps discord tells you on the 2auth option that’s literally below your username n such.

Being self-aware about your server and your privacy isn’t paranoia.

I’ve seen people where they say, “oh you’re just being too paranoid about something that won’t happen.” no that isn’t true. Anything, can happen on this planet. ANYTHING. That includes, bad things. Being self-aware about yourself and your server isn’t a bad thing. It’s a good thing because it shows not only how much you care about yourself and what you love and others. But, it shows you’re willing to prevent many things like Nukes, Raids n such. So, if you’re reading this worried someday that your own staff members turn on you andend up nuking your server. Tell them how wrong it is and make them understand that it isn’t right n such. Enable 2auth if you aren’t satisfied and want to keep things lowkey if you aren’t interested in discussing stuff like this.

Every report received to discord won’t always work.

Sorry, if this looks bad but, it isn’t. It’s actually good. Someone falsely reported you for something? It won’t work. For example, let’s just say you fucked with someone outside of discord. And, they have proof of you doing so. Note: Discord only accept things such as Message IDs, Server IDs, Channel IDs, and User IDs. so, if you are reported for something you did outside of discord. Do not panic. If a discord employee simply messages you or emails you to hear your side of the situation. It’s best to avoid threats that people claim to report you for. If you’ve been added to discord services or discord ban list bans you can always appeal. It’s never too late to change, it’s never too late to move on. Those who say it’s too late are the ones who give up.
